Rumor Gal Campfire; Thursday Evening

While he was getting pretty damn tired of the whole cabin thing, Chuck would have been stupid not to take advantage of an already lit fire and the new bag of marshmallows he found in the kitchen. He wasn't quite sure who kept buying the marshmallows but Zefron bless them.

Joint in his left hand, Chuck tried his hand at trying to flick marshmallows in the air with his right and catching them in his mouth. Turns out he had a talent for it.

Raven nodded. "The skills go hand in hand," she said, "for me at least. I am drawn to other peoples' pains, and I can take them into myself and heal them."

It took a second for Claire to realize that Rachel had taken her words literally. "Oh, I meant heavy in a... metaphorical sense. It's a lot of burden on you."

"I am sorry, I am unfamiliar with many metaphors," Raven said. "And I do not consider a burden." Most of the time. "It is simply what I am. If there is pain, I must take it away."

Because in some small way, it made up for the atrocities her father had committed over the years. "I do not know if I can explain," Raven said. "It is what I am, and what I wish to do. There is so much suffering in the world, and I have the ability to relieve some of it, and I cannot ignore that."

Claire nodded. "I guess that makes sense."

It made her wonder if she was wrong for not letting the Company test her blood to see if it could help others though.
