Dorm hallways, around lunchtime

Bel was skulking. He was too restless to stay caged in his room, but he didn't want to hang out in a common room like this, either. So he skulked, roaming the hallways, trying to avoid people, pausing every five minutes to try to force himself back into human form. So far, no luck.

This sucked.

"I take it they don't exactly roam the streets openly where you're from?" Bel said. "Everybody here knows what I am. I just don't normally look like this."

"Well," she says after a moment of consideration, "when you're told your entire life how important it is to keep things like that hidden, it can be a little shocking to suddenly be confronted with it like it's no big deal. And my form isn't even nearly as...impressive as yours."

Bel stared at the girl. "You're a demon?" he asked.

Biting her lip, Sakurazaki's head hangs slightly for a moment before she nods without looking up. "Well, half," she says quietly, realizing that this is the first time in a long time she's had to admit it. "But that's kind of all you need."

Bel blinked. And blinked again. "Half...demon?" he said. "I thought I was the only one...." After a moment, he added, "And I know what you mean."

Sakurazaki looks up with a small smile on her face; her heart's racing a little bit. Fourteen years...fourteen years to finally have contact with someone from that side, and he even understood her. She knew she was right about having to talk to him.

"I'm Setsuna, by the way," she says after a moment. This stranger was now enlightened to her deepest, darkest secret, so the formality of a surname just seemed obscene.

"Belthazor," he said. "My friends call me Bel." He looked at Setsuna in awe, shocked to find someone else like him. "Where are you from?"

Sakurazaki nods. "It's nice to meet you, Bel." Then she can't help the slightly sardonic smirk on her face. "Isn't that one obvious?" she asks, then adds, "I was raised in Japan, though. Kyoto."

"San Francisco," Bel offered. "Underneath it, kinda." He studied her for another moment. "Were you...born half-demon? Or did you become one some other way? If you don't mind me asking...."

Sakurazaki shakes her head lightly. "I don't mind." Not under these circumstances, she didn't. "I was born into it; you? I didn't even think someone could just become this way..."
