Basement pool, Thursday evening

Walter led Alphonse down to the basement, his arms laden with some things you likely wouldn't expect in this weather, including blankets, ice skates, his electric kettle, and what appear to be the makings for hot cocoa with marshmallows.

He dropped most of those things off to the side of the pool and looked expectantly at his roommate.

"Come on. I want to see you turn all of that to ice."

[ooc: Pool party! The pool has been frozen solid, the room should be not just cool, but downright chilly. Enjoy the relief from the heat with a few goosebumps. Open to all. Anyone who wants their character to have an excuse to be down here can handwave a phone call from Walter. It's possible he randomly grabbed the school directory and dialed.]

Nadia sat down with a bit of a thump, shaking herself slightly, then forcing herself to be cheerful and not ruin Walter's fun.

She'd conquer the ice later.

Forced cheer was not what Walter was looking for. He set his skates aside and got up to get a blanket for Nadia and a cup of cocoa.

"It does. And it sucks." Nadia shook her head. "Sorry, I really don't know what happened, there."

"It's alright. I should have caught on more quickly that you were uncomfortable." He pressed the cocoa into her hand and sat next to her. "Is it the ice? Or the cold overall?"

"I was okay until I noticed how far we were from the not-ice." Nadia shook her head. "And I didn't know how to get back to the edge."

"When winter comes, I'll help you practice." He shrugged. "I slipped on the ice and sprained my wrist during the snow monster attack. I could probably use some regular shoe practice myself."

"It doesn't get anywhere near this hot at home in my decade. I'm not accustomed to it at all and this was a fun idea." Sure the girl from South America was telling him it wasn't hard to deal with the heat.
