Third Floor Common Room, Monday Evening

Sore and bruised, and also with a bit of an upset stomach from eating too much after two days without food, Conner headed into the common room in hopes of catching some tape-rerun EPL soccer games, only to find that Fox Soccer Channel's feed was all screwed up again. Fabulous.

He ended up flipping channels idly, just killing time until Supers came on, and temporarily settled on the Boston/Montreal hockey game. Because there were goal nets at either end. It was sorta close.

"But, like, in a totally manly and I totally don't like boys I think way, right?" Jude blurted out.

"Hey, my boyfriend is gay. I don't make any assumptions about any body." Nadia smiled. "And you never, ever know."

"Gay? Nobody said anything about gay! I'm not gay!" Jude yelped. "I mean, I just kissed Blair once and then Chad once, but that doesn't mean anything." Jude said this all very quickly and stammered a lot, finally falling silent, blushing bright red and looking like he's about to bolt.

Nadia, on the other hand, was full of ~~chibi-like~~ glee. "There's nothing wrong with it! I think people are just attracted to people, you know? And you didn't say you'd kissed Chad. . . . He has great lips, what was it like?"

Jude looked dreamy for a moment. "It was totally - wait, no! No! I don't - I didn't - I wasn't thinking about it!" Flail, blush, flail, wash, rinse, repeat.

Nadia bounced the slightest bit, then winced when this sent an ice cube down the back of her shirt.

Still, the girl could not be stopped. "Ha! I knew it! Jude, you can like mostly girls and occasional guys, you know, it's not unheard of . . . and I think it's cute!"

Jude hunched in on himself, blushing furiously. "'s not cute . . ."

"It totally is!" Another half bounce, another ice cube. She might start shivering in a few moments. "In a manly way, of course."

Jude fidgetted for a minute before blurting out, "But all he's done for like the last three days is watch me screw up and have to take care of me and he's probably sick of me and oh god he's already seen my tattoo and I'm so screwed, aren't I?"

Nadia? Totally focused in on the most important part of that rant. "You have a tattoo?"

". . . yeah." Jude shifted slightly uncomfortably in his chair.

"What's it of? And I'm sure Chad isn't sick of you, he seems like way too nice of a guy for that."

"Peace symbol." The salient fact of Chad seeing it is exactly where it was located. But he looked hopeful. "Really? Ya think?"

"Mmmhmm! And he probably doesn't care that you have a tattoo on your butt or wherever you have it. When did you kiss him?"

Gah! How did she know? "Um . . . F-Friday night."

"Well, there you go! If he was sick of you, he totally wouldn't have kissed you. Or sat by your bed, or anything. I think you should go for it."

"G-g-g-go for it?" Jude's eyes widened and he gulped.

"Yeah! It's pretty obvious that you like him, you know. So you should go for it. And if it doesn't work," Nadia shrugged her good shoulder. "Then it doesn't work. And if it does work, you get to kiss hot latin lips!"

A small Jonesy voice popped up with Been there, done that. Jude really, really didn't want to think about Jonesy at the moment. "But . . . but . . ." Jude really couldn't come up with any good excuse.

"But nothing! Doooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Or I'll make Chad making the first move part of his next surrender agreement."

"I can't - wait, what?" Jude looked confused.

"Surrender agreement. I defeated him in popcorn combat. That's why he was wearing pink and bunny ears the other day."

"Oh . . . Wait! No! You can't force him t' go out with me!' More flailing.

"Then you'd best get off your butt and ask him yourself!"

Nadia had learned with Pip and Pippi that subtlety? Soooo not the way to go.

Which once again reduced him to helpless blushing and flailing. Because he really didn't have a good excuse not to just get off his butt and ask him, other than 'but what if he says no'.
