Second floor common room: Wednesday morning after first period

It was Valentine's day. Jack had it on good authority that it was a day dedicated to love and romance, the inevitable outcome of which was pretty much always sex. That made it his kind of day, and - seeing as he hadn't done anything for his birthday yesterday - he'd decided to do something for Valentine's Day.

Which was why he'd picked up some handwavy supplies after Spy Tech, and commandeered the second floor common room kitchen for the making of pancakes. Heart shaped pancakes, in fact.

This is not easy to do when you've only got the use of one arm, the left one being tucked away in a sling to keep it from moving around. But he was managing, sort of, accompanied by occasional swearing as he missed a flipped pancake.

There was strawberry syrup, maple syrup, chocolate syrup, and lots of whip cream (though it was the kind that came in a can) along with a slowly growing stack of pancakes.

[ooc: open of course - heart shaped pancakes for all!]

Lana ducked her head and swallowed hard, but nodded. "He wouldn't have wanted to be stuck like that. Or to be hurting Phoebe."

Lana looked up at him gratefully. "It is hard. And Phoebe hasn't come back yet. She must be devastated."

She smiled a little ruefully. "And it's Valentine's Day and poor Jim is still too sick to get out of bed. Has been for over a week."

Lana had actually hoped she and Jim would spend a fair amount of time on Valentine's Day in bed, but not like this.

"I'm lucky if I manage to get some tea and juice and a little soup into him," she said. "I've just had to accept that we'll do any celebrating on some future day." She ate a little more of the pancakes.

"That's what I figure," Lana said. "I'll probably get guilt gifts for ages. Even though he doesn't need to. He's just so good to me." She ate some more of the pancakes, smiling at the thought of Jim.

She smiled a little shyly and blushed. "Tha pancakes are really good, though," she said. "I haven't really been able to eat much, so that's saying a lot."

Lana smiled at him. "Oh, I'm very well aware of that," she said with an arched eyebrow, clearly not talking about cooking at all. "Though in terms of food... anytime you want to cook for me, you're more than welcome. Jim would probably be forever grateful if you got me to eat regularly."
