Second Floor Common Room, a little after noon

Parker was talking as she entered the common room. "And this is the Second Floor Common Room, which is the best, of course. Anyone will tell you that. It got blown up once, but then it was fixed."

She flipped on the TV set and started looking for Smile Time or a monster movie.

And possibly other students to inflict wee tiny grown ups on.

"I think you'd have to ask your mother about that," Aeryn says. "You think you're old enough to use a sword yet?"

She nodded. "I'm THIS MANY." Five fingers were held up to Aeryn as the so-called braid fell completely apart.

"Well, you're certainly old enough," says Aeryn, who's not really joking. "Do you think you can handle one, though? A lot of people your age aren't responsible enough yet."

Aeryn actually lets her, because she's cute and this isn't as horrible as she expected it to be. "I suppose if you must," she says though. Because she has to at least pretend to protest.
