Second Floor Common Room, a little after noon

Parker was talking as she entered the common room. "And this is the Second Floor Common Room, which is the best, of course. Anyone will tell you that. It got blown up once, but then it was fixed."

She flipped on the TV set and started looking for Smile Time or a monster movie.

And possibly other students to inflict wee tiny grown ups on.

"Definitely more than a year," he agreed, privately surprised that there wasn't flailing. On either of their parts. "Both her parents must have been very pretty."

"Yup. And if she's got this much confidence at this age, they must have loved her a lot." And no, there was nothing wistful about how he said that. At all. Definitely not. Nope. "She might even take over the world one day."

"I'm sure you do," Sam said, a little sad at the idea that Jack had fathered a child with someone else, though she supposed it was probably inevitable once they split. "The idea of your daughter taking over the world doesn't seem impossible," she smiled.

"Well, she's pretty bold. Her mom must have been the same," he said kind of sadly, wondering if Sam changed her mind and came to the Agency, this little girl would go poof and stop existing. "Not the kind to wait around to be seduced."

"Up to you," Sam didn't really care, and was trying to fight down the urge to be monumentally stupid. Sometimes having a 40 year old female brain wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

"Okay, then, I'm just gonna...go, then," Sam said, forgetting her coffee on the counter. Maybe soaking her head in a cold shower would bring her back to her senses.
