After getting his one class completed, Alex found his way onto the roof to smoke. It was a warm night but it was clear and that meant he could stay up here for awhile and not worry about dying of heat or getting rained on. With a free day tomorrow, getting the relaxation started early just seemed like the thing to do.

He stuck a cigarette in his mouth and lit it, letting it hang from his lips for a few moments before blowing out a cloud of smoke. He wasn't stressed by any means of the imagination but after being a girl and spending most of his weekend being lazy, it was nice to be himself and outside.

And see, he was even being nice, getting out of the room in case Griff wanted it. He was all heart.

"Guessing I'm a cove?" Alex asked, slanting a look at George. "Cuz I ain't a lass. Not today, at least."

"I was hopin' ye were a cove, aye," George agreed. "No offence, but if ye were a lass right now, you'd be a right ugly one."

"I was a lass," he said, imitating that accent as best he could, "the other day and I was damn hot."

"Yer soundin' awfully proud of that," George noted, amused at the mimicry.

"Why not, right?" Alex asked, shrugging. "If Fandom's going to be fucking weird, at least it's generous with the body I got. I had fun in it."

Oh, yes, that was the fourteen year old coming out as he tried hard and failed to keep himself from blushing.

"Tis a good thing then," he managed. "I didn't be mindin' it as much as I'd've thought I would."

"The tits were nice, right?" he asked, taking advantage of that blush and trying to make it happen again.

George rubbed at his lips. "I was lookin' like Jaina," he admitted.

And yes, he now had very definite pictures in his head of her than he never, ever should think about when she was around.

"Jaina?" The name wasn't familiar until. "Oh, the one that looked like Brooke! You looked like her? I slept with Brooke."

"When ye were a lass?" George asked, both impressed and a bit disturbed. ""Twouldn't be - twould be strange."

"No, no, I did that awhile ago," Alex said. "I pretty much slept with someone else while I was a girl."

And.

"She was a girl too."

Oh Gods, with the new blushing Alex was never, ever going t'buy the man o th' world bit George tried to convey (and he certainly thought he was good at it).

...Why did he have to know the other boy was tellin' the truth?

C'mon, George, get over the embarrassment.

"But twasn't yer body!"

"So?" Alex said, shrugging. "It was my body for the day. And the other girl really liked it. You weren't curious?"

"Aye!" He said, far too quickly. "But th'lasses - they wouldn't be likin' it."

Whoever Alex had consorted with was obviously insane.

"I found a lass that did like it," Alex said smugly. "Maybe you weren't looking hard enough."

"Twasn't lookin' at all," George said, making a face. He'd been too busy trying to flirt with girls with the same face an' Tahiri.

"Why not?" Alex wondered. "Lost your sex drive?"

"No!" He snapped. He wasn't even sure what that was, but losing it was obviously a bad thing. "I jus' didn' go about lookin' for a lass t' sweettalk."

"I didn't either," he said and rolled his eyes at the kid's temper. "It just happened. It's called curiosity. Check it out sometime."

"Got plenty o' that, thanks," George said. "An' I did me own explorin' jus' not wit' a partner."

Much like most of the exploring he'd done.

"Ah, soloist, are you?" Alex said. "I did some of that too. Couldn't help myself."

George was not terribly surprised t'hear that. And he was starting to feel like Alex was one of the older lads od the Rogue. Which made him both more at home and wary.

"D'you think they'll find it as interestin' if'n they get turned into lads?" He asked.

"You know, I didn't think about it," he admitted even if, now, he was thinking about. "I think so, though. They'd have new parts too. Hair where there wasn't hair before. Bigger muscles. Deeper voices."

He snickered. "Or so we're hopin'."

So chivalrous. Really.

"I think they'd be lying if they said they weren't curious," Alex said. "We just have to make sure we're around when they're curious."
