4th Floor Common Room [Thursday afternoon]

The whole invasion thing had, oddly enough, made Proto rather nostalgic. It had been chaotic and tense, which reminded him of home, but it had also been... confusing. Proto understood how things worked on the streets of Bahamut, but Fandom was something else completely.

And so he was sitting on a couch with some junk food, but no TV.

He wanted to go home. At least for a little while.

After class, Makita padded in and jumped up on the couch to make herself comfortable. On Proto.

Proto looked down at the wolf in his lap and smiled fondly. "Hey there, beautiful," he said softly, reaching out to ruffle his fingers through her fur.

For all that he found Fandom weird, sometimes it was... well, appropriate.

She snapped lazily at his fingers in affection before settling in for some scratching. She wasn't some spoiled lap cat, thank you. She was a wolf! Fifty kilos of fur, muscle, and teeth! Very fierce.

That, he knew, was true. No one could possibly mistake Makita for anything but dangerous.

Unless they had poor survival instincts.

"You want to go for a run later?" he asked. "Through the preserve?" She'd run him into the ground, of course. He could keep of with her when she was human. Barely, but he could manage it. But as a wolf? Not a chance.

She whined eagerly, tail thumping against the couch. That? Sounded eight different kinds of awesome, since she did already miss chasing goblins around. And Maki was crazy, but not crazy enough to try chasing the resident squirrel population.

Green eyes blinked at him in amusement. He'd better say she was beautiful; if she was going to be stuck with four legs, she didn't want to be some shaggy mutt.

And she was a wolf! Makita's tail thumped against the couch harder. At least whatever witchcraft had caused this had picked the perfect shape!

Momoko was bored of her room and her floor and was exploring, trying to find something interesting. The fact that she hadn't gone to three had absolutely nothing to do with Jaime maybe catching her not studying.

She poked her head into the fourth floor common room, surprised to see the tv wasn't on. "Oh? Is the TV broken?"

"Huh?" Proto looked up and blinked. After a second to get his bearings he shook his head and grinned. "Not as far as I know..."

He just hadn't gotten around to turning it on.

Momoko waved. "I'm sorry I bothered you; were you meditating?" She smiled. "It's totally not important; I was just wondering because usually I see people watching tv if they're in a common room and not reading. Or sometimes even when they're reading."

He waved at the screen. "If you want to watch something..." Be his guest!

"You kind of had the same look my roommate has when I bother him during his meditation." She grinned, sitting in one of the chairs. "I don't have anything in particular I wanted to watch, it's just different that it wasn't on. My name's Momoko. Akatsutsumi Momoko. Have we met?"

She was totally sure they hadn't.

"Triela's my friend and the other leader of the Gun club. She's totally awesome; just ask Makita!" She bit into a potato chip. Now she was totally going to ask them why they never challenged each other.
