Third Floor Common Room, Thursday Afternoon
So yeah. Some time after breakfast, the self-proclaimed Queen of the Third Floor had notified the school administration with some not-quite-even-half truth about why she needed to cut her vacation short and get back to Fandom, booked a portal, and subsequently returned from Hawaii a few days early. It may have seemed like a completely insane thing to do from an outside perspective but really, she deemed it best for her sanity right now. She needed a bit of distance between herself and... a lot of stuff, and an uncharacteristically quiet Fandom seemed like the place for that.
Having put away herhandwavily purchased groceries, she flopped down on a couch with a bag of candy and turned the television on. A brief moment of remote-clicking and mild frowning later, she had come to the conclusion that the TV was joining in on the Spring Break spirit thing by refusing to show anything other than a Jersey Shore marathon on every single channel.
And Kate was just fine with that. In fact, she immediately felt a little bit better, a little more at home in her own skin. There was no chance of her being exposed to anything intellectual, and that was perfect. She got a little more comfortable on the couch, popped a piece of candy in her mouth, and prepared to be entertained by a completely skewed version of reality.
[ooc: Open common room in a mostly deserted dorm building is still an open place! Can also be open to texts or calls, I s'pose.]

He had a story for that though, and therefore didn't hesitate to take a seat in one of the chairs near Kate. "Didn't think anybody else was in the dorms."

Yeah, because he was capable of getting violent at the moment. Right.

As she was doing that, she gave him a curious look. "Did you get hurt or something? I was pretty sure you were kidding about manhandling lame people."

Luke hated that was the story but he figured he owed Nico for playing nurse all week.
"It needed some stitches and stuff but it's no big deal," Luke told her. "I couldn't move it at all earlier this week but now I can lift light stuff and tie my own shoes. Progress."

But let's face it, most things did.

Mostly, it was just about having a needlessly drama-filled life.

She shook her head. "Pretty much has me having to rely on skinny Irishmen to keep me from starting a bar brawl with the skank hanging on to my ex boyfriend's arm. Or just from making some other random melodramatic scene."

She just liked the freedom.
