Third Floor Dorm Hallway, Saturday Evening
Stephanie had already decided she had no problem with waking up somewhere that wasn't home; it didn't smell like cigarette smoke, and Dad wasn't around to yell.
Mostly, Dad not being around meant that absolutely no one was going to complain or make her stop when she found a towel, stuck it down the collar of her favoritest shirt ever for a cape, and took off running around the dorms pretending to fly.
"Lookit! Lookit! I'm Sooperman! ZOOOOOOOOOOOOM!"
No one would complain, right?
Right.
[OOC: This is totally canon. Bless you, Secret Origins 80-Page Giant. Also, open!]

By riding down the hall on her back.
Little girl.
Big dog.

. . . that wasn't very helpful, Steph.
Leaving aside whether she had a good answer to the question, because she didn't anyway, there were more immediate interests to deal with.
"Big doggie!"

But Dad wasn't around anywhere, so . . .
"Can you keep a secret?" she asked, glancing around.

"When I'm not busy bein' Sooperman, my name's Stephanie. Stephanie Brown. But don't tell anyone!"

You know. If you counted Sooperman.

"Green's good too," Stephanie agreed, being agreeable like that. "What color d'you like, Nana?"
Yes, she was asking the dog. Just to be fair. It was the principle of the thing!

And tried to lick Stephanie's face. As you do.

Well, no, Nana looked like Nana always looked: big-eyed and patient.
"Nana's not a guy. Or bad!" Cally defended her.
