Crush party!- 6th floor common room- Friday night

Today was a busy one, and as soon as the play was over it was time to dash back to the dorms to make all the last-minute touch-ups for the party. It was as beachified as someplace in the dorms could be, there were plenty of (non-alcoholic) tropical drinks, and glitter everywhere.

Glitter, sand, totally the same thing.

And, Annie decided, considering the rampant "Do you want to go to the party?" happening last night, it was probably a good thing they hadn't gone the bouncer route.


[OCD going up! If you want to come and haven't received an invitation, totally feel free to say Annie tracked you down and invited you. So, technically open to all! *nods*]

"You know," Rebecca said with a begrudging smile, "I'm actually impressed."

Beat.

"Except for that one lantern," she added, indicating a lantern on the back wall that was ever so slightly tilted. Sloppy, sloppy work, Annie and Rilla.

"So close to having it just right," Bruce said. Bruce would have barely noticed it if Rebecca hadn't pointed it out, but he was letting her have this one without an argument. This kind of positivity was a nice start toward a good, civil party where he wouldn't have to take sides. "I'll just try not to look too closely at it."

"Not that you should really have to," Rebecca said lightly, but she moved on quickly enough. "But how are you otherwise? There was a... strange phone thing the other day."

"Did you get something about a corset, too?" Bruce asked. He immediately launched into the defense he'd had to establish over the past couple days. "It was in response to a message somebody left me about the play. It made sense in context."

"How considerate," she said, grinning and easily moving on. "My experience... didn't involve any corsets. On this particular occasion." Yeah, Becs thought she was cute and subtle. "Your... friend called me about ferrets, though."

Yeah, she was totally turning up her nose at the mention of Cara. Because someone was a brat.
