Fourth Floor Common Room [Monday late afternoon]

Olive wasn't even feeling especially social or creative. But ever since her class that morning, she'd wanted cookies. And no, she was so not like, a gourmet cook at all, but she could buy refrigerated cookie dough with the best of them.

Shhh. She threw the packaging away and tossed the raw dough into a bowl so no one would know. She was sneaky. There was a batch of cooling chocolate-chip cookies resting on the counter already as she stared at the oven like it might produce state secrets or something. She'd turned on the television, for those who might not be super-into watching cookie dough rise, but she wasn't especially paying attention.

And no, she was not making these cookies for anyone but herself, regardless what certain parties might try to argue. But she'd share, probably. Unless you were obnoxious.

[open, la.]

"Do you want me to make you cookies?" Victor wondered. "I might put pickles in them or something."

He would not. Though it didn't sound that bad, all things considered.

"Do not underestimate my willingness to eat pickle cookies on a dare," Sparkle replied, looking rather pleased with himself in light of that fact. "Because I so will. Might even spread peanut butter or something on them first."

Sparkle. Sparkle no.
ultron_junior: ([neu] a little suspicious)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
The problem was that Victor looked curious now.

"It might be good," he decided. "Sweet and salty and sour, all at once. Dude, now I kind of want this."

Robot taste buds were a little ... special.
myownface: (Intense)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, I'd be game," Sparkle decided, glancing at the fridge. "I mean... why the hell not? I'm sure I've eaten worse."

No, there was really no question that he had.
ultron_junior: ([neu] gracias)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Now we're like honor-bound to try this," Victor decided, and went over to open the fridge. "We can start from sugar cookie dough, right? Or do we have to make them from scratch?"

This was either the worst idea or the best idea he'd had lately.
myownface: (Yeah Sure)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Probably a little of both, depending on the level of horror you were aiming for.

"I'm pretty sure it isn't cheating if we go with dough that's already there," Sparkle decided. "I can't bake worth shit."
ultron_junior: ([neu] hey i understand)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
"I haven't really tried," Victor noted, emerging with a tube of sugar cookie dough and a tub of dill pickles. "It doesn't seem hard in theory, but neither does rewiring a lamp."

He held up the ingredients. "Success? Do you want to find the peanut butter?"
myownface: (Throwin' Crap.)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
"Damn right I do," Sparkle replied, pretty much diving for the cupboards like a boy about to make some terrible life choices. "The way I see it, either the peanut butter will help cleanse the taste from our mouths if this doesn't work, or else it'll make the flavour stick to the roofs of our mouths for hours to come."
ultron_junior: ([neu] fascinated)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
"You're really selling this one to me," Victor noted, but easily; he was already squishing the tube of sugar cookie dough out into a bowl to add in the extra ingredients. "And see, now you can't say I never made you cookies."

Terrible, terrible cookies. Somewhere Karla was proud.
myownface: (O Rly?)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"It's true," Sparkle laughed. "And depending on how these turn out, you might never have to worry about me bugging you for cookies again, either!"
ultron_junior: ([neg] what have i done)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"See, so either way I win," Victor said, and found a knife to start chopping up the pickles. "Either I discover a taste sensation, or I establish why most androids don't cook."

He frowned at the bowl. "How many pickles do you think these need?"
myownface: (Yeah Sure)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
"Four," Sparkle replied, without even looking. And then he made his way over, jar of peanut butter in hand, to check out the pickle situation. "To start, at least. I say we add enough so that there's... like as many pickles as there would be chocolate chips in that other more popular kind of cookie."

Bah, popularity.
ultron_junior: ([neu] a little suspicious)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"People are just biased in favor of chocolate," Victor said, shaking his head as if in protest.

He chopped and dropped in the recommended four, stirred, looked, and added two more. Perfect.

"This looks like a very pickle-y cookie." He was starting to sound slightly dubious about the whole endeavor.
myownface: (Hmmm...)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
"Like a six-pickle cookie, in fact," Sparkle agreed, tilting his head as he looked into the bowl. "Hey, if you don't eat it, I will. More pickle-chip cookie for Sparkle, that's right."

This was going to be made of regret and sadness. Or was going to at least require a few beers.
ultron_junior: ([neu] brown t-shirt)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
"If they come out bad enough, you can have the whole batch," Victor said. He was so generous. "But the truth is, there's not a lot I won't eat."

[OOC: Night!]
myownface: (Oh Yeah?)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, then I guess I'm going to have to share."

Such a hardship. Really. How would Sparkle ever survive. Alas.

"You think the dough is any good raw?"

[Night!]
ultron_junior: ([neu] right over there)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
"Only one way to find out," Victor decided, and dipped a finger in to break off a chunk, which he then popped into his mouth.

He made an odd face, then swallowed and smiled, deciding he liked it.

"Okay, we may secretly be culinary geniuses."
myownface: (Wary)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 01:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"You're shittin' me," Sparkle decided, and then reached a hand into the bowl to snag some for himself, not hesitating before popping it into his mouth.

"... No, no you're not."

Well. Who saw that coming?

"Think baking it'll just bring out the pickle flavour more?"
ultron_junior: ([pos] check this out)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Like Victor had any clue?

"Sure," he said, because being confident always sounded good. "But not in a bad way, right? More like ... salty. Like salted caramel."

That was a thing!
myownface: (Smirky)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, if we marketed it like that, I'd totally give it a try. Like... ketchup and orange juice. They make like fruit-flavoured carrot juice and stuff like and anyhow, you know?"

So it wasn't like it was a stretch!
ultron_junior: ([neu] against a wall)

[personal profile] ultron_junior 2012-09-11 02:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right," Victor nodded. "Like ... all your fruits and vegetables, and it goes on fries. Why not?"
myownface: (Throwin' Crap.)

[personal profile] myownface 2012-09-11 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Sparkle tilted his head in thought for a moment.

And then he made a break for the fridge to grab the ketchup and the orange juice.

"Might as well!"
