Release the Kraken Firepit, Lunchtime, Monday, 6/03

Victor had planned to stay on his sleeping mat today and read, but he gave up on that idea the third time he accidentally put too much weight on one elbow, rolled off to the left, and watched his book bounce to the right. Living in a moonbounce sounded like a lot more fun until you tried to do it, he reflected after he chased down the book and crawled out into the sun.

Once he was outside the tent, Victor plopped himself on a rock and stared into the firepit with the book balanced on one knee. He was trying to decide whether it was too early (and he was too lazy) to start a fire or whether tracking down a bunch of firewood and lighting it up was his duty as a camper.

[OOC: Open campgrounds post.]

Chaz had spent a good part of his night bouncing more than he usually wanted to during the night. He'd also gotten pretty good at calculating where his next bounce would take him and managed to bounce out right next to the campfire.

"Ow. Didn't think that through." He muttered.

Chaz skipped te first bad joke that popped into hiss head. "I wasn't aiming for the campfire!" He insisted. "I just forgot that the ground is actually hard." He added sheepishly.

Chaz very maturely stuck his tongue out at him. "I'm blaming the bouncy castle. Or fish thing castle really."

"Anywhere else I'd say no. Here? Maybe. And then they thought it was a good idea." Chaz said darkly.

"I just keep bonding with someone's elbow. Or possibly knee. And I'm kind of fond of spending my time in my room, you know?" Chaz said.

Chaz shrugged. "I'm used to sharing, but I'm also used to having my own bed and the floor not moving on its own." He considered the situation. "I am not above using Velcro in some very creative ways, combined with rope and some blankets."

Chaz face palmed. "It sounds worse when you say it."

Theo hadn't gotten much sleep last night. Living in a bouncy castle wasn't bad...until you tried to sleep and just ended up bouncing all over the place. Sleeping outside was starting to sound like a good idea, possible rain or not.

"Afternoon," Theo said to Victor as he made his way back from class. "Bouncy castle still extra bouncy today?"

[identity profile] theoplustwo.livejournal.com 2013-06-03 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"I might need to check the weather forecast because sleeping outside might not be as hard as sleeping inside the castle," Theo said, rubbing his chin. "Even then, the rain might be refreshing it."

It was getting hotter and hotter. Summer was pretty much here but the heat on this coast was a lot different than California.

[Neither am I. No worries, s'cool!]

"I'm Theo, by the way," he said, dropping his backpack on the ground and taking a seat. "Pretty sure we've been bouncing around the same castle. I'm just hoping the constant movement doesn't make me nauseous."

He didn't think that would happen but he hoped he hadn't jinxed himself.

"Think we should buy a few of those bags they have on planes in case?"

"We are not cleaning up puke!" Dev said, making gagging sounds. "Not even our own!"

Theo couldn't really argue with that choice.

"Yeah, me either," Theo agreed. "I was thinking tents like I used to do in my back yard with my friends. Not...this."

He quirked a thumb at the bouncy castle and shook his head. "I worry about so many things while I'm in there. Like, what if I puncture the thing with my pen while I'm writing? And it deflates and traps us? That would suck."

[identity profile] theoplustwo.livejournal.com 2013-06-03 07:37 pm (UTC)(link)
"Who thought of this idea?" Theo asked because he hadn't thought of what Victor had just mentioned. "There are more cons than pros, man. I'm gonna be so paranoid."

[identity profile] theoplustwo.livejournal.com 2013-06-03 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"See who has the most patience? Who can sleep anywhere? Who can take the most elbows to the eye without getting a bruise?"

Those were so positive. Ange scowled inside his head and Dev shushed her because Theo was obviously right and he was encouraging that whole thought process right now.

"You'd probably be more comfortable," Theo agreed. "Does your job get a lot of business? Would random customers be interrupting you in the middle of your naps? That's always annoying."

[identity profile] theoplustwo.livejournal.com 2013-06-03 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Couldn't hurt," Theo said, shrugging. "Wish I had a spot where I could nap. I thought about going back to my room but I figured someone would realize I was gone."

Somehow.
