Third Floor Common Room; Monday Morning [11/18].

As far as the sort of tomfuckery this island liked to throw around all over the place, the last weekend actually hadn't been too bad, but that didn't stop Wayne from just feeling glad to have woken up that morning back to his proper age again and having things get back into their usual swing of things, just in time for Monday Morning Brek'est Breakfast as normal.

Even if his reasons for being glad for this were about a good 50/50 split between just liking things to stay as normal as possibe around here and the fact that he'd run around calling his girlfriend Thuri.

And, oh, sure, he'd get over the lisp just fine. He'd done it once, he'd do it again. But it wasn't himself he was worried about getting over it, it was more other people, but if they had a lick of sense to 'em, they'd just forget about it and move on with their lives.

But that was usually the problem.

Either way, there was breakfast that morning, like pert'near every Monday morning, with all the usual things because somehow the island managed to provide enough in the fridge for it even if Wayne hadn't exactly had a chance to do his usual Sunday breakfast shopping that weekend.

[[ and of course, if it's brek'est, it's open! ]]

Not only did Nina always take tea and always wear proper gloves for it, but Nina looked like she needed the tea just about as badly as Tisarwat did that morning. So putting aside her own pain at the moment (which was definitely something thousands of times more than a hangover), she pulled out one of the nice cups from her tea set, dutifully poured, and went to join Nina over on the couch, with the tea ready for whenever she was prepared to sit up for it.

"What's the matter, Nina? You're not your usual cheerful self this morning..."

And, truly, Nina deeply appreciated the effort but between more words and coming closer, it was pretty clear that…

She shaded her eyes (unnecessarily) with her hand to peer at Tisarwat.

"My dreadfulness," she said, "can wait………….. you're in pain."

And, really, despite her theatrics, Nina knew which was more important.

Tisarwat thought about brushing aside her pain for the moment, but Nina was one of the people she knew could actually help her with that pain, so, wincing slightly, but still with a faint smile, she merely postponed it, because, theatrics and pain aside, there was still something more important to take care of...

...if you were Radchaai, anyway.

"Tea first," she insisted gently, holding out the cup. "And then we can discuss all of our various aches and pains."

Physical or otherwise.

Tea, first?

Nina blinked at Tisarwat, then at the cup, and considered arguing but, really, Tisarwat didn't appear to be bleeding out, and so…

"Well," she said, sitting up and wriggling over so that there was plenty of room for Tisarwat to sit. "If you insist………………"

Then, because she couldn't help asking, even as she reached for the tea, "Thank you, but would you have said the same if you were in imminent danger of dying?????????????"

"I do insist," Tisarwat said with her faint smile growing a little bit as she handed that cup over, "so it's a good thing that I'm not in imminent danger of dying. Would you believe me if I said yes, though?"

Nina wrapped herself around that tea cup, breathing in the steam with an appreciative sort of sigh.

"Well………..," she said, "I suppose, if you're ever bleeding around me, that we'll find out for sure……………"

And that sort of reaction was exactly why it was tea first.

"Hopefully it'll never get to that point," Tisarwat noted, "but, at least I know if it does, I'll be in good hands."

Words that, as Tisarwat poured herself some tea now, made her smile fade just a little, because, if she remembered, hands would be a crucial part in how Nina did her healing, if she were to ask. It made her sort of wish Lana had been here instead of Nina, since her method of healing seemed far less...complicated, despite that fact that she knew Nina was almost always at breakfast and Lana rarely was.

"But now that we've got tea...," she prompted, once her own tea was poured, her flask set aside, and she'd had a long sip.

"It's time to deal with our pains and hurts??????????????" Nina suggested, taking a sip of her tea before also setting hers aside even as she slanted a considering look Tisarwat's way.

"What's wrong?????????????"

"It's my head," Tisarwat offered with another faint, weak smile, before buring a wince in another sip of tea and sort of curling both her hands and her shoulders around the cup a little. It might have been a posture she might have taken just to illicite sympathy in most situations, but today it felt much more genuine as she thought of how to explain, or even if she should have to. "A headache...or a migraine, probably, it's that bad. I get them sometimes, but I think the switch back from being a kid really triggered it this morning..."

Nina's eyes narrowed speculatively.

"I can fix the headache," she said, though really, it was probably a ridiculous usage of her magic and yet, really, it wasn't like she was doing anything more important… "Though, like, if it's a reoccurring thing, I probably can't fix what's causing it so it would be just a 'treat the symptoms, not the cause' thing???????????????"
lilac_eyed_lieutenant: (ohmygods)

[personal profile] lilac_eyed_lieutenant 2019-11-19 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Tisarwat closed her eyes for a moment, shaking her head marginally, which was just as much as she was comfortable with moving it unnecessarily. "I know you can't really fix that," she said, "and I wouldn't even ask if it wasn't so bad. This is probably the worst one yet, and the meds here are practically useless."

She almost hated the fact that she felt like she'd do just about anything for some good, strong Radchaai drugs about now.

"Then we'll heal that," Nina said simply. "Unless, like, you got any questions or anything first???????????????"

[personal profile] lilac_eyed_lieutenant 2019-11-19 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Tisarwat considered a little caution, thought about asking, because she thought she remembered Nina mentioning her healing had something to do with hands, but the awful pounding and that burning sensation was enough that she firmly decided it didn't matter.

She'd put herself through worse, after all. And remembered even worse things than that.

"No questions," she said, closing her eyes again because that somehow made it easier. "Just gratitude." She smiled a little. "I really appreciate it, Nina."
