Second Floor Common Room - Saturday Morning

Alara had woken up in an unfamiliar location but it didn’t take her long to figure that she should scout it out and see what resources she could find and hopefully be able to take some back with her. Even though this place didn’t seem to have any Kaylon’s she was still keeping an eye out in case she had to retreat at a moment’s notice.

[Alara’s is now an AU version of herself where she is part of the resistance against the Kaylon after they took over the galaxy in the Season 2 finale ‘The Road Not Taken’. Open!]

"Hey," said Astrid, who figured that was all she needed as a green light and went searching for a bowl, "I'm not going to complain."

Alara smiled, “it has been a while since I’ve seen so much food in one place,” she said, “at least this area doesn’t seem to have been invaded,”

Astrid was always a little bit wary about interacting with other people too much in a facility ever since the Mac, but it was hard not to be a littl ecurious about what this other girl was talking about.

"Invasion?" she asked, after pouring some of cereal into the bowl she found.

"The Kaylon Invasion of 2420?" Alara prompted, "there's not many of us left, most of the galaxy has been destroyed by the Kaylons," Alara hadn't worked out that she wasn't in the 25th Century anymore.

Oh. Great. This other girl was a total space case, in more than one way. Astrid looked at her for a moment before she moved over to the fridge.

"Yeah," she said, "I must have missed that. But I've been stuck in down in Frogtown these days, so..."

She looked in to find a carton of milk, opened it to sniff it to make sure it wasn't on the way to spoiling, and poured a small amount over her cereal, then put it back, before she changed her mind.

Alara blinked, not comprehending how anyone could have missed the invasion but then she caught the rest of what Astrid was saying, "Frogtown?" she said, tilting her head slightly, "I'm not familiar with it,"

"Elysian Valley?" Astrid tried, mixing her cereal into the milk before taking a bite. "Central L.A.? That's where they had me last...."

"Central LA..." Alara repeated, one of those names sounding familiar to her "that's on ... that was on Earth right?"

Astrid's brows lifted. What kind of place had she wound up in this time?

"...yeah," she said, trying not to sound like it was too obvious, but not doing a very good job. "It's....definitely on Earth."

She almost wanted to ask where else it would have been, but her experiences had told her that it was usually better not to go poking at people if you didn't have to.
