Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening
The trip had been exciting, but Kiem found he didn't mind being back either, and he didn't mind classes starting again, which, he realised, wasn't what he had expected when arriving in Fandom. He had never liked classes, mostly because he wasn't really good at anything he was expected to learn, and while he might not be good at what he was taught here, no one seemed to mind much.
Except that scary teacher that had replaced Summer. He missed Summer. Which was unexpected too, because he didn't usually miss teachers.
Thinking about all this was, he felt, an acceptable excuse for the taste of the soup he managed to make from all sorts of leftovers in the fridge.

"That's right!" he said, shoulders squared, chin lifted, and a grin that he couldn't control even if he tried. "Every Friday morning! I'm the Troy in," and, of course, the next part had to be sung jauntily, "🎵 ~Troy and Astrid in the moooorn-ning!~ 🎵!
"Are you a fan?"

"Of course!" he said. "How did you end up doing it? Did the squirrels recruit you?"

"Which scary mean teacher?" he then asked, trying to think of which one would fit that description, but he barely paid attention in half his classes, much less to the teachers teaching them. That poetry teacher he had was pretty bad, but that was robably because, you know...poetry.
