2nd Floor Common Room, Sunday Morning
With the slow creep of familiarity came... a kind of not-restlessness, a feeling that made Amicia step out of her bedroom with a growing regularity.
Not often, and not far. But still. It was a Sunday, morning even, and she was back in the common room.
She had a bowl of oatmeal, this time. It was tolerable, and familiar, and that was all she cared for.

And then... a huff of something almost resembling a laugh.
"Choco-chip pancakes," she repeated. She looked down at the screen, but what it was giving her-- didn't make all that much sense, either. "Chocolate?"

There was a moment of preening, before he chuckled a little and admitted, "Okay, pretty much my only specialty, but don't let that fool you! They're really good!"

She looked down at the device again. She should probably use it.

But when the translation came through, he had to laugh.
"Yes!" he assured her confidently. "Always!
"Well," he amended with a grin, "maybe not always, but it sure takes a lot to bring me down!"
Death, usually, that would do it. And failure. And betrayal was going to knock him back pretty hard in the future, too, but for now? That cheerfulness was pretty in invincible!

She spoke to the phone again, and held it aloft.
"You remind me of someone I knew."

"A-- boy," she said. "A very. Nice. Boy."

"Thank you," he said, ducking his head. "That's very nice of you to say. I'm glad I can remind you of someone nice; I definitely do try to be nice, you know? You seem pretty nice, too."
