Azula stood next to the firepit ignoring the cold. She placed her hands behind her back and watched the sun rise, it was faint behind the clouds. She let her eyes close and let what little sun's warmth she could feel and sense invigorate her. She felt more alive and awake with the sun's rising. It was, in Azula's opinion, a far better wake me up than caffeine.
And then Azula felt she was no longer alone, her eyes fluttered open and she spun around and saw... a small creature jump up on one of the logs. It turned around in search for something then looked up at Azula with big, brown eyes.
The creature was furry, tiny and had patches of brown mixed with its white fur. It looked like a hybrid animal from home. The creature lifted its tiny arms and began to make, to Azula's untrained ears, happy sounding noises. Azula crouched to observe. It made more of its noises and began to dance around as if Azula's attention was enough to elicit such a happy reaction. A perfectly valid reaction, Azula thought. "Aren't you cute?"
It squealed, as if it understood her words. Azula opened her palm and upon seeing it the furry, creature had one last frenzied dance then ran to hug her hand--
And that was when Azula batted the cute, harmless, furry creature to the ground. It squealed in alarm, bounced a little then rolled on the ground before it stopped. It stared at Azula, stunned. By this time Azula was snickering.
It squeaked, stood-up and began to run away.
She watched the little creature run away and smirked. "Ah, yes, just like home."
