School Grounds, Wednesday afternoon

After the two boys were handwavily gremlin bit earlier in Chris' room, Jack Johnny and Ennis Chris headed outdoors to get to work and do what need's doin' to gather the herd and keep 'em secure on Crackback Mountain.

It was just that Johnny was a bit confused and glancin' over at Chris told him that the ranch hand was pretty much in the same boat.

"Ah, hell, Chris, I don't be seein' them heffer's 'round, do you? And the good Lord strike me dead if this here be Crackback Mountain. I'll be a yankee sumbitch if these here hills be called mountains."

Hands on hips, he glared at the ground.

"You thinkin' real hard over there or are you just as confused as I am?"

"I've lived here for almost a year now," Kabuto replied, shrugging. And taking a large amount of mental notes to write down later. "And I haven't seen any cows here. Since you never answered my question before, you must be lost."

Johnny was about to answer back but this boy's last words had him sputterin' and attemptin' to laugh it off. "Boy, that's crazy. Men don't do those sorts of things."

"Actually, yes they do." Kabuto pushed his glasses up on his nose. "Surprisingly common, really. There's no reason to be ashamed of it." He was going to give Johnny so much hell for this. Oh, yes.

"Am I?" Kabuto took a step closer to Johnny. "So you have no feelings for him?" He jerked his head in Chris' direction.

"Ninja?" Johnny asked skepitcally, checking him out in a nonchalant sort of way. "I knew you's wasn't from around here."

And there was one thing one didn't do, and that was make fun of a cowboy's hat.

He smirked. "I doubt that whole world thing. That some TV mumbo-jumbo crap?" Johnny shrugged his shoulders. "I ain't defensive 'bout nothin'."
