roof | evening | august 17 | monday

After getting his one class completed, Alex found his way onto the roof to smoke. It was a warm night but it was clear and that meant he could stay up here for awhile and not worry about dying of heat or getting rained on. With a free day tomorrow, getting the relaxation started early just seemed like the thing to do.

He stuck a cigarette in his mouth and lit it, letting it hang from his lips for a few moments before blowing out a cloud of smoke. He wasn't stressed by any means of the imagination but after being a girl and spending most of his weekend being lazy, it was nice to be himself and outside.

And see, he was even being nice, getting out of the room in case Griff wanted it. He was all heart.

[the roof is open!]

"No, just befriended one," Chuck said. "Takes more time but much cheaper in the long run."

"I'm not using him. I'm...utilizing his natural skills," he said. "I think it's a mutually beneficial relationship."

"...but, yes, he knows I'm capable of doing my own work."

"What can I say? I'm a businessman. I know how to get the best results from my employees," Chuck said with an easy shrug. God, Sam would strange him if he heard himself being referred to as an employee.

"I don't pay him or sleep with him." But, oh, he so wanted to sleep with him. "He just likes to do what I say."

Chuck had no idea how he got so lucky.

"He's actually pretty smart," Chuck told him with a shrug. "I honestly don't know how it happened. I guess I'm just lucky."

Yeah, Chuck wished.

"Well, whatever the reason, I'm not going to complain," Chuck said. "Maybe you'll find a geek of your own one day to do your work for you."

"Fair enough," Chuck said, smirking. "You are obviously less lazy than I am."

"That could be the case. Would explain why I hate doing school work," Chuck said. "I mean, there's not much of a point to it, is there?"

"That's always fun," Chuck said. "You get laid and good grades. Win-win."

"I went to an upscale private school. Most of the teachers could afford plastic surgery," Chuck said. "So they weren't half-bad looking."

"Of course! There's no way I could get in trouble for it," Chuck said. "I'm just a teenage boy who doesn't know any better. They're the adults."

"Not yet," he said. "It's much better to have them under your thumb. You lose a lot by telling on them."
