The Roof, Monday Afternoon
Well, that was it for another term of workshops, then, and now there was a week to look forward to not a heck of a lot of anything at all.
Zack, of course, was going to kick that off by attempting to get in touch with the Director back in Midgar, to see if there was any important work for him yet. That phone call was met with no answer from Lazard, and so little success. That idea having fallen through, Zack decided to default straight to... Plan B.
...
The view of the clouds was way more awesome from the roof than it was down on the ground! And, in a rare moment of something not unlike planning ahead, Zack had even brought lemonade.
Now he was all set for whatever break week could throw at him, oh yes.
[Open roof, open post! Hi!]

Karla had had lots of 'missions' this summer. She was just about ready for a break, thanks. "I've got the goodbye slumber party planned for the senior girls, but that's about it."

"Always for the girls only," he noted. "A guy could start to feel really left out, just because he doesn't look good in a dress, you know."

Could you ever really be sure, on this island?

"Well, if the person throwing the party thought that it was okay, then I guess it totally would make him girl enough to count. Especially if there's make-up and gossip and stuff, too."

"By cobbling together about three dresses, maybe?"
Okay, Zack. You weren't that built. Even if you were about the third tallest person on the island, or something like that.

Seriously. They were a wonder, especially right before one's moontime...
"I can do some basic sewing, if someone needed something done," she added. Completely for no reason, of course. "I mean, I'm mostly used to sewing up people, but the principle's the same, right?"

The dress might end up looking like some freaky Frankenstein-esque costume, but it was the thought that counted!
Or something.

... He'd probably look really good in pink. Right?
no subject
"You should," Karla said. "I know I'd think anyone who took up that dare would be pretty awesome."
no subject
He had no idea what it meant, though!
"I mean, like, cookies or something."
no subject
You know? That had her thinking. "Hey, if cookies are going to be baked anyway..."
no subject
It had something to do with cookies!
It Had To Be Good.
no subject
Newbies. Cookies. What could possibly go wrong?
no subject
"It totally beats us trying to raise interest using posters all the time," Zack replied, grinning. "I mean, not everybody who comes here can even read, and who doesn't like cookies, right?"
no subject
Or Warren was providing a humanitarian service to the school. Whichever.
no subject
"Oh, awesome! You know... I've never really baked anything before? I mean, I used to help my mom in the kitchen, years and years ago when I still lived with my parents, but my important job was licking the batter from the spoon when she made cupcakes."
Mmmm... cupcakes.
no subject
No, Karla. For the good of the world, no.
no subject
Because Zack apparently was very good at hiding his black, black heart and how he had no soul. Or else he just didn't know any better.
One of those.
no subject
"You make an excellent point," Karla said with a firm nod. "Cookies for Newbies. It's practically a rule, now."
