The Roof, Monday Afternoon
Well, that was it for another term of workshops, then, and now there was a week to look forward to not a heck of a lot of anything at all.
Zack, of course, was going to kick that off by attempting to get in touch with the Director back in Midgar, to see if there was any important work for him yet. That phone call was met with no answer from Lazard, and so little success. That idea having fallen through, Zack decided to default straight to... Plan B.
...
The view of the clouds was way more awesome from the roof than it was down on the ground! And, in a rare moment of something not unlike planning ahead, Zack had even brought lemonade.
Now he was all set for whatever break week could throw at him, oh yes.
[Open roof, open post! Hi!]

This was a big step for Peter, really.

"It's something like that, I guess," he admitted. "I really don't know all of the technical things behind how it works, either. Something about Ancients and power from the Lifestream, or something like that."
Because that explanation would totally make more sense. Yeah.

He shook his head and stretched out his legs. "So, how much do you know about Rosalind, any way?"
no subject
"Honestly? Not much. I think she knows more about me than I do about her, you know? Different timelines, same world, same employer back home. I do know she's really nice?"
Zack's concept of 'really nice' was pretty broad, it should be noted.

He grinned a little at that, kind of crookedly. He was in that weird middle-ground sort of reality that had magic and science, so that made conversation with most people into an adventure, one way or the other.
"And you know, now you have me all curious why you were just wondering, like that. Are you interested in her, maybe?"
Look, Zack didn't know much about her, but that wasn't going to stop him from being a snoop.

"Clearly, you haven't met many people our age from my world. People have to grow up fast, there, usually." Or else die trying. "I don't think Rosalind was any exception to that. It just makes her that much tougher, you know?"

"I don't think she'd appreciate so much if somebody went looking for her cracks, man. Cracks are too close to breaking points as it is."

"I've found that just being nice is a pretty good start," he offered.
It was the Zack way of things. Nice worked wonders with everyone. Usually.

"I don't believe that," he decided. "Everybody notices when somebody is being nice to them. People might not necessarily react, but they do notice."

No, really. This was kind of almost like a warning, Peter.

... What? Girls totally liked chocolate. It was like one of the rules upon which the universe had been built.

"You know, I think I just might try that," he decided. "Thanks for the advice."
