The Deck; Sunday Morning [04/12].
Thus far, Wayne had actually managed to be be blissfully ignorant of any shenanigans going on with the island that particular weekend, as evidenced by the fact that he'd even bothered going outside instead of just hiding out in his room all day, organizing his plaids or something, just to avoid as many children as possible. He did not particularly care for kids, not even when he was a kid himself, so it was sheer ignornace that allowed him to leave himself exposed like this on an otherwise unsuspecting morning.
But it was also Easter, which meant he was missing out on the annual Easter egg hunt tradition back home, and his attempt to get into the spirit of it remotely was to go have his coffee and a morning dart outside on the deck, where he had a seat, lit his cigarette, took a few sips of coffee, and then settled in to keep an eye on his phone because Katy had promised to live-tweet the event for him so he didn't feel too left out.
They mentioned that Squirrel Dan's cousin Samuel offered to be Wayne's stand-in for the hunt, but Wayne wasn't going to be on board with that idea. He fucking hated Samuel. He fucking hated Samuel so much.
Samuel, it should be noted, was a seven-year-old.

Sissy did not believe in inside voices when you were outside. Duh. That's just logic.

The shouting voice got Wayne's head to snap her way in attention, brow furrowed disapprovingly, because why was there a kid here and why was she hollerin' like he wasn't just sitting there a few meters away from her?
Then he nodded.
"Can confirm."
He might have asked where else he could have been, but that might engage the child in a conversation, and he didn't think he cared too much fer that idea.

"Good," he said, though he'd been better only about five minutes ago, and he sighed out and wondered what to do with his dart now since he couldn't really smoke around kids, it was bad fer them, "n'you?"

He took a moment to drop his DART and put it out with the toe of his boot.
"Ain'cha got parents somewhere who can make pancakes for ya?"

[OOC: BEST TYPO.]

"Hard no."
He liked to think if he had any kids out there, he'd know it, and even if he didn't know it, he was pretty sure the math on this one wasn't going to add up right, anyway.

She popped the p in yep.

"Not fer a good long while," Wayne countered firmly, "I should hope!"
Or possibly ever, but that seemed a bit cruel to say to a kid who was claiming to be your very own.
But now he was squinting at the little girl a bit more speculatively than before.
"...the island's doing a thing again," he ventured, "isn't it?"

He nodded to Sisipho again.
"Don't think," he said, "I'll need three guesses to figgur ouwt who your mom might be."
And wasn't that some food fer thought!

"She's gonna need a lot more coffee," he mused, "probableh. But..." He took a swig from his own, and then diverted his attention directly toward Sissy again. "First things first! You said you were hungry?"

...
Much like his mother.
"IT'S A TINY WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYNEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Where was his sister? Getting her hair done by mom, obviously! And hanging out with their half-sister which was, like, super weird.

But it wasn't the volume that was earning this loud child a furrowed brow, but rather the content of those words.
"Speak fer yerself, there, small fry."

"What're you looking at???????????????" Solis asked, bouncing over, much closer, so he could peer off in the direction that Wayne was looking in.

Yeah, why, Wayne?

"Exercise is good fer ya," he said. "Go climb a tree, or something." He looked the other way now, squinting. "I don't give a fuck."

There was a lot of think about, okay?
She was trailed by two girls, a dark-haired one that looked a lot like the boy nagging him, and a slightly younger blonde. Both of the girls had their hair done up in elaborate braids.

Who then drained his coffee like it was something much stronger, and then frowned down into his now empty mug with a forlorn sort of longing.
"Nina," he set the mug down. "How are ya now?"
